Energreen machines at work
for land reclamation authority
The tour project “EnerGREEN MAINTENANCE Around the World” continues for exploring together professional companies of green maintenance around Italy and abroad.
Next stop takes place in Grosseto, Tuscany, hosted by Consorzio di Bonifica Toscana Sud which shows us how Energreen machines can perfectly fit into the context of vegetation maintenance along canals and ditches.
The importance of land reclamation for the safeguard of the territory
and its water supply network
The land reclamation authority of south Tuscany – explains President Fabio Bellacchi – embraces a very wide area, that includes three main territories of the region, Grosseto, Siena and Arezzo for a total of 162 thousand hectars of surface. This includes the Ombrone River and its main tributaries as well as other waterways such as Albegna and Orcia.
The primary goals of Consorzio are the hydraulic defense, regulation of water drainage, protection of local flora and fauna and management of irrigation systems. In this sense, the land reclamation authority is responsible for all those activities of maintenance and management of the hydraulic system, in order to keep efficient standard of territorial and landscape defense.

The unique and awsome landscape of Maremma, Tuscany
The beautiful flat of the Tuscan Maremma gives us a landscape full of nature with its fields planted with wheat, lonely trees close to the border ditches, and streams of water running along the crops. A territory that represents the result of decades of human action on the territory through land reclamation activity, detour of water rivers, securing the land, creation of irrigation systems, crop rotation.
A landscape that the whole world has come to know and love, the one of Tuscany, so much so to make it the collective imagine when one thinks of rural locations in our country.
Energreen tracked robots: a valuable ally for mowing activities
It is a warm and sunny day at the operative center of land reclamation authority where Energreen machines for green maintenance are ready to go into action.
The most compact one, RoboMINI tool carrier, equipped with the flail head Head 100, transforms into a professional mowing robo, ready to creep even into the narroest areas.
RoboEVO remote-controlled tool carrier, Energreen’s new flagship machine, equipped with the loader bucket shows all its versatilty and agility even in jobs closer to earthmoving. Next, it goes into action equipped with a Forestry Head 130, becoming a powerful tracked mulcher.
Another news of the last two years is the remote-controlled tracked RoboMIDI, multifuncional product, also equipped with a forestry head for wood activity, the Forestry Head 150 with fixed teeth.
Last but not least, the historical RoboMAX, in all its power, comparable to an agriculture tractor, to shred even the toughest branches thanks to the Forestry Head 150 forestry head.
The radio-controlled tracked tool carriers move fast and quickly at the base of the embankment, cutting and shredding tall vegetation: the slope of the riverbank does not represent a problem for these remote-controlled machines which prove to be perfect machines for grass mowing activity along canals and rivers.

The self-propelled grass cutter machines
with telescopic boom optimize mowing work on wide riverbanks.
As illustrated by the President Fabio Bellacchi, the environmental context where we are is particular: Ombrone’ riverbanks, indeed, are very high and extendend in lenght. Energreen grass cutting machines with telescopic arm reach even the furthest points and avoid the operator to move in the low part of the embankment, thus optimizing work time.
The self-propelled hydrostatic machines ILF are leaders of the whole lenght of the canal, showing the innovation and the technology of Energreen: the telescopic arm, the rotating cabin and the 180° rotating unit compose the perfect mix for an efficient and safe work.
The new one in Energreen is ILF Alpha, evolution of the award-winning ILF S1500, equipped with the F12 telescopic arm, ideal for moving in narrow areas and aerial pruning.
At its side, the historical ILF Athena lead the group, extending the telescopic boom to the maximum lenght of 15 meters, mowing the grass in the furthest places.
Thanks to the 90° rotating cabin – a strenght of these grass cutting machines – the visibility of the working environment inside the cab is wide and total, allowing the operator to keep the focus on the activity in safety condition.
Finally, the multifunction machine par excellence, ILF Kommunal, also a hystorical presence in Energreen, is equipped with a telescopic arm Orbital 7: a true speciality that allows the machine to perform grass mowing on both side of the roadways thanks to its 290° rotation.
In addition, all machines feature the 180° rotating unit which allows the rotation of the flail head New Speed to mow the grass in both directions without the operator to move the machine. This means a boost fot the production and a decreasing downtime, making the work easier.

Ideal machines for land reclamation and green maintenance
“Safety, innovation and technology make these machines the ideal tools for activities that an authority like ours has to deal with on a daily basis, from mowing grass along irrigation canals and ditches, to cleaning the stream bed, up to the most different land reclamation activity” summarizes Fabio Bellacchi, President of the land reclamation authority in south Tuscany.
For a land reclamation authority the vegetation management along ditches and riverbanks is fundamental: avoiding the vegetation to grow in an exponential manner is the first step to avoid the obstruction of canals and rivers, potential cause of landslides.
It is so essential to be equipped with highly professional, versatile machines that allow a safe work.
Energreen thanks again the direction of Consortium South Tuscany, the staff and all the participants who were present during the day.
We look forward for coming back soon to face new and interesting challenges together!
